The Norwegian Institute of Bunad and Folk Costume has collaborated on development of Fru Sems valg [Mrs Sem's choices], a game about women, clothes and capitalism in Christiania in the 1820s, created by Tidvis AS. The game lets you control the plot, and the choices you make determine what happens next. The game takes a look at 1820s Oslo, focusing on women and textile history, and several of the costumes that appear in the game are based on pieces in our archive.
The game can be played here or can be downloaded as an app to your mobile phone or tablet.
