Thanks to many decades of fieldwork, the Norwegian Institute of Bunad and Folk Costume has accumulated a photo archive of more than 350,000 images.
The photos document individual garments that have been registered during fieldwork, and include photographic documentation of bodices, jackets, skirts, trousers, headdresses, belts, bags, shoes, boots, and so on. The photos hold such a high quality that they can be used in dissemination activities, lectures, books, articles and exhibitions.
The institute's entire photo collection has been digitised and is made available to members of the public on request. If you would like to use some of our photographic material for publication or other purposes, please contact us for price details.
